well, it's a 2C diesel. Probably a turbo- does the cam cover say "turbo" in red letters?

OK at the risk of appearing a complete do do, I dont know what type of engine mine is. I keep reading about 2C and 2CT and 3CT and whatever else, my vehicle is a 2 litre 91 Deisel Town Ace, manual gear box, I did try looking in the Ace Answers but still found nothing that gave me a clue. thnx for your help.

Rachel,

2C, 2CT and 3CT are all toyota diesels the 2's for two litre, the T for Turbo and the 3 for 2.2 litre. My guess is yours is a 2CT, but you may want to confirm that by looking on top of your engine (lift the passenger seat) you should see in big red letters "D-TURBO", if not, it's just a 2C, i.e, no turbo charge.
