(Home) Alternator/regulator

Please help! I have read all the threads detailing the alternator/regulator issues and believe I am a sufferer (wrning lights etc...) The problem is identifying the regulator. I have a 1989 Litace GXL AWD with a 2C-T engine. The alternator belt appears OK and is spinning the alternator nicely. In the passenger footwell I have a black box with part number 077-200 0470. This contains a small circuit board. On the same bracket as the box is a pair of relays and a fuse. Does this mean that the regulator is on the Alternator? If so what is the circuit board? The part number does not match any suggested on the website. Once I know the regulator is integral I am happy to take out the floorpan and replace belt bushes and regulator. Thanks for the help.....

Well, your 077 number isn't a toyota part no., probably a Denso one, so I can't search for it. But it could be nearly anything- A/C, timer for something, regulator. Try tracing the wires. Post what colour they are, and the size of the fuses, and we'll see what we can do...

(searches again on cd...)
Ah, your alternator is internally regulated. Need to delve under the floor...

David,

Thanks for the quick response and helpful info.
Do you know the part number for the internal regulator on my vehicle or do I need to take the floorpan out to find out?
Also will the brushes and holder assembly posted elsewhere (27371-70300 and 27370-54450) be OK to use?

Thanks again!

Dunno, there's a couple of choices of alternator, need to check.

David,

I'll try to remove the floorpan (my first time)to get the numbers I need.
Should be fun!
Thanks for the advice...Much appreciated.

Regards John.

I managed to remove the floorpan last night in sub zero
temperatures. Manual transmission cables very awkward!
Alternator label had:

Toyota
27030-64120
100210-3410
12V

I'm hoping that's enough for my local toyota dealer to
identify the parts I need.

Thanks again David.
