Hi Lester,

I have just received the 2C-T engine manual and will
scan and E-mail pages for Timing-belt.
In the meantime here are torque settings for(a)Main
bearings;1050kg-cm(76ft-lbs,103N-m and(b)conrod;
650kg-cm(47ft-lbs,64N-m)
Using gaskets again,don't know,maybe someone else can help you there?
I am in Invercargill,and have just re-engined a MasterAce!
Cheers,TAS.

just took piston out of 2nd hand block & top of piston with valve pattern & size is same but rings are on different position on piston .i.e about 1 c.m further down , is this a low compression piston and if so can I just change all 4 pistons over,any info would be greatly appreciated thx Lester.

Are you sure the other block is 2C-T? A 2C's pistons have the same cloverleaf on the top, but there's a nick at the front for orientation rather than the 2C-T's arrow. Other differences may apply too, I don't know.
Generally, rings move towards the top of the piston as development improves (for emissions reasons), that engine, is it old?

Oh, and don't even think of reusing the headgasket- they're the 2C's achillies heel at the best of times.

]hi david ,my engine is in a 87 townace jap import is a turbo and has dot instead of arrow on piston it is a original toyota piston ,,but the mtr has been recond a couple of years back,other block I got is slightly earlier according to en. no.s but piston has arrow on [i.e the 1 with the rings lower down.] it is not a toyota 1 and is more round around the gudgeon pin.[the other toyota 1 has a big flat groove/slash/cut on each side.the other block I got has all the signs of a turbo i.e[pipe to sump,rocker cover I got with it says turbo,turbo mounting bracket below where exhaust manifold sits] other block has been worked on 2 as sump sealer is not original & pistons appear to be aftermarket, would en no.s help or would they only add to the confusion as both blocks have none original parts.to add to it-rings on both pistons are different[1 has slightly fatter oil rings]any light shone on the matter to clear the fog would be greatly appreciated,also the other block I got was apparantly a good runner as the guy only bought it for the head, cheers Lester
