Can anyone give me a few ideas on how to sort out an interior light fault on a 91 royal lounge?
The footwell light for the sliding door does not work, the bulb is good but there is no voltage present. The door switch does bring on both centre and rear lights. The overhead swich in the drivers roof console does nothing when the door button is pressed, should this bring on the sliding door light and both front door lights? Cable colour is red with a white tracer.
Thanks and a Merry Christmas to everyone.

side and rear door switches should operate the step light and rear roof light(s).
The Door switch on the front interior light should enable the front door switches. This part of the circuit is rewired by some importers, as it's linked to the central locking as standard IIRC

Phil, I don't have a royal lounge, so can't comment on your set-up, but in my Masterace the footwell light is linked to the rear int.light. i.e. There are three positions for it; either off, on or door.
If I switch to 'on' position, the footwell light also comes on, so the outgoing wiring from the rear int. light switch must go to the footwell.
Therefore, if yours is the same, you either have a bad connection or earth at the footwell or a break in the cable from the outgoing side of your rear int. light.
HTH Regards,
Tony.

Thanks for the helpfull replies regarding my interior lights,I have since found that,
the door light switch in the roof front console brings on the room light at slightly reduced brilliance when the front doors are opened.
my sliding door footwell light not working was a broken solderd joint in the bulb holder. This I repaired by drilling out and bolting with a small B.A.nut and bolt (to difficult to resolder).
the rear interior light not working is down to the switch in the tailgate lock which I have not yet been able to unseize.
Thanks.
