(Home) Wiper arms

Hi All,

I have a problem with the front Wiper Arms on my '91 Townie 2.0 Super Extra. The right hand side arm has stopped working properly. The driver side wipes perfectly but the right hands side doesn't move on the up stroke and then tries to go down on the down stroke. It appears to be loose and when you pull the arm up on its spring it becomes even looser. Can anyone tell me how these thing attach to the motor? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

The linkage is a bugger to get to, the dash has to come out. It's the usual crank setup, balljoints holding the links together. Have you checked that the arm is tight on it's shaft?

I think the problem is where the wiper arm connects to the crank. When the wipers are on the shaft emerging from teh windscreen is turning but it is not biting on the wiper arm, so the arm does not turn. How do the arms attach to the crank?

I have found the wiper arm assembly diagram on Ace answers which showed how the arms connect to the crank. Will try and take the arm off completely and put back on. Thnx.
