Can you help with a question?? Does the older Lite Ace / Town Ace (82-86..) use the same differential as the 81-84 Starlet? I race a Starlet and need to lower the differential gear ratio and was hoping to use a gear set from the Lite Ace (or Tamarraw or Hi Ace) The older Lite Ace used the 4K/5K engine as did the Starlet. Thanks!!

quite likely. it's the 7.5", 2- pinion diff iirc. if the starlet has a 7.5", they should interchange. what about camry, cressida, etc? i think some use a 7" diff. there's an axle code table in www.off-road.com/toyota/ somewhere...
