Given that BBC spares are closed, I have found another alternator supplier at www.auto-electro.co.uk

I don't know what they are like but they offered to recondition my alternator with a day or two if mailed to them for £65 + £8 return carriage.
It might be worth you checking them out to see if they can recon yours if you need it...and they answered my emails within the same day!
