(Home) Fuel tank sender unit

I ordered a s/hand fuel sender unit from the guy listed under "Townies Breaking on E-bay" a couple of weeks ago. As it hadn't arrived I 'phoned him and he said his boys were having a nightmare getting it out of the fuel tank, they were going to have to drop the prop shaft to do it. Is this correct, or is there a simpler method of accessing it? He is proposing to refund my money if he can't get it out. Is there a part number for it, and is it pricey from Toyota (OK, stupid question....)

Well, it mounts to the top of the tank and there's no access panel in the floor above. So the tank has to come out. I know it's hung on a couple of straps, but the way they are hinged, the propshaft might have to come off for clearance. The manual doesn't detail a procedure...

part number depends on model (petrol/ diesel, size of tank...) but at a guess cr21 is 83320-80030 and cr30 is 83320-80062
