Great site for us novices.
I would like to know if anybody knows of a decent garage or mechanic near Stevenage, Herts. that would service and repair my 1990 townace 2.2 TD 4 wheel drive, if needed fingers crossed it's Ok at the moment
but i've only had it for 2 months, and would be nice to have someone nearby.

Is it definatesly 2.2, or a 2.0, check the plate in front of the drivers seat, it will sya the engine size, could be 1974cc.

yup, as Rob says, If it's pre-92, it must be a 2C (1974cc)

It is a 1974 2C-T, funny because the log book says 2.2
but now I know.

Get the registration document updated by the DVLA, otherwise your insurance could be invalid, as the vehicle won't match the registration, also check you have it insured as a 1974cc, this has probably occurred due to the fact that most of the importers haven't got a clue what they are doing, the inporter of our kept trying to tell me that they are all 2.2l, I had a stand up arguement with him, right up until I showed him the VIN plate with the cc on it!
