(Home) Central locking problem

Hi all

I have recently had the pleasure of purchasing a Lite-ace FXV 2l Deisel Turbo Auto. I have had the vehicle for about 1 month now and am very impressed with the smooth, though sometimes sea like ride. My family, consists of my fiancee her two children and my two children ages from 9 to 4 and upgrading from a mondeo has meant no more squabbling about being squashed. The only draw back was finding insurance as most of the major insurance companies would not insure an import, ended up with Tescos insurance.
I have been reading with interest regarding central and remote locking. The central locking works really well but the remote locking with the key is totally ineffective. I have replaced the battery and have also pressed the button on the dash under the grill but to no avail, shame as that would be the cherry on the cake.
All in all I am proud to be a new Townie.

Rob,
Look down a few posts and you will see a bit about 'key central locking'.

There are few things there to look at!

Welcome to the club.

Thanks Dave

I have spoken to my local dealer and a quality inspector will be looking at my lite-ace and deciding whether they can help out with any issues. I have read a few of the details of the remote central locking and have tried the remedies listed but to no avail. I will keep looking and let you know if it works and what the local dealership says.
Thanks again and compliments to the owner of this site and to the helpful contributers, I have learnt a lot from it already.

Rob
