I'm in the middle of Africa with a donated 1991 Townace but no manual. Could someone please tell me what kind of oil I'm supposed to use in the transmission and differential?

Ray,

Where are you (about) in Africa? If you are anywhere in Southern Africa (anywhere below the Congo) we are probably buying the same stuff. Please, specify whether your townie is auto or manual, petrol or diesel in order to help you on the (exact) correct oils.

By the way, I am in Maputo (Mozambique) and I was in Dar Es Salaam last week. I was just amazed to see so many townies in one place (which they use as taxi and they are so many of them roaming around the hot and humid old town; I lost count past 50 in a matter of hours).
