(Home) Replacing lapbelt with diagonal seatbelt

Hi

Could anybody tell me if it is possible to replace the back lapbelt with an ordinary diagonal seatbelt? In my old Cruiser, all the side belts were the diagonal type and only lapbelts in the two middle seats. In my Townie, all the back ones are lapbelts. I'm asking, as my granddaughter (who has some disabilities) needs to be in a diagonal belt with her child seat. At the moment she sits in the front, but my daughter wants to sit with her in the back, especially as she gets older.

Thanks - Joanna (again, sorry)

It is possible for competent DIYer
Some garages wont do but have a ring round
May be worth trying minibus suppliers or land rover specialists as they are accustomed fitting aftermarket belts

http://www.securon.co.uk/
will give an idea of prices and other info

If you get it done it would be interesting to read your posting as (when I get round to it) I want to do the same on my hiace

The Bristol MPV center gave me an address of a place in Bristol which they use, when I asked about rear belts last year. There is a lot of info on AceAnswers with some step by step how to do it advice.
