I am considering buying a townace on the East Coast of Australia (Brisbane). Does anyone know how freely available spare parts are and how familiar mechanics are with the Townace in this part of the world or Australia in general? Thanks, Adam.

Brissie seems to be the place where a lot of the Jap imports come into Aus, so you should have plenty of choice.
Likewise parts shouldn't be much hassle, although the dealers here in Perth don't want to know you.
Check out the Aussie SURF website (type in "toyota surf downunder" - I think?) they have contacts on mechs and parts for the Hilux surf, but they might be able to help.
