(Home) Auto no drive

Cheers Dave, the Box and converter were ok before the transplant, and the mating faces have all bolted up ok, however it was a bit of a struggle. Since then i have drained the oil and checked the filter, OK. But on re filling have noticed that the oil level does not drop between cold and hot and running, ie having worked the gears and repositioned in park, engine still running. Its as iff the gearbox is not pressuring, and all the experts say no oil in torque converter = no drive.any thoughts?

souns like the oil pump is dead. Is there any chance the box was on it's side or sump- up at some time? If a bit of crud found it's way into the regulator circuit, that could cause your problem. You did put the little pipes back on again after you checked the filter?

Try disconnecting one of the cooler hoses and start up. see if there is any flow. I'm wondering whether the converter has emptied sufficiently while standing that there's insufficient drive to even run the oil pump. If there's no flow, try feeding some fluid through each of the cooler hoses, in case the pump is dry, airlocked...
