(Home) Toyota parts and rebuild info - link

Came across this site
http://www.showmesome.info/hilux/site/site_map.htm
whilst surfing for info on the 3L engine in my hiace(still got nowhere)
Primarily it caters for large toyota 4wd ie:hilux and landcruiser etc. - but it does offer several links regarding rebuilding hubs/diffs etc. and links to parts CDs http://www.yankeetoys.org/docs.htm
Requires capacity to deal with zip files for parts CDs(I dont have this prog unfortunately)
Dont have time to examine in detail but it looks as though it could be of value (some info will cross ref)
Hope its not a red herring but if you've a spare 1/2 hour......

well found, that man. Now all anyone has to do is download all 500Mb and burn it CORRECTLY to a cd...
(it's the jap cd site we want, not the US one BTW)

500Mb? that'd take quite a while to download! But I know a man who has the working cd already ;-)

Guys, what a fantastic site. I can't stop reading it. I have just bought a 1995 townace. I am stunned by it. even my regular mechanic cannot believe its condition and value.

BTW.
If you wish I can download the big files you speak of and put them together on a cd. I was going to do this but you say it's a U.S. Oonly file. Is it different from the Jap CD? Is that available?

I am a web designer/developer by trade and if you need any help or advice with Websites etc. let me know.

Jay, I've looked a bit closer, and apart from the site offering the Jap cd seemingly having an error, I don't know if the disc is of any use. There are about a dozen cds in the full set, at least four for each region. I have the B1 Jap cd which covers the pre-92 townies. That site is offering the A1 disc which will be the latest models in that year. I believe it'll be the A2 cd which is needed for your model.
I also have A1, A2, and B1 Euro cds which cover the US models pretty well.

Burning the disc isn't such an issue if you know how to title it correctly for the program to recognise it. I'd rather not say how many discs were wasted in that learning curve...

If I can get into this site I'll download the images and see what models are indexed.

Keep you posted.

Does anyone have any info on the hiace supercustoms - in particular the 4x4 2779cc '3L' engine (1992 yr).
CD, paper, or internet - I'd be interested in anything as I have nothing yet
(I understand the 3L was fitted to the hilux for a while)
Toyota won't provide me with anything though they have parts info/breakdowns on their computer

not a lot, Chris. But what is the exact model- something like LH50 XXXX? I might be able to get some pulled off a collection of discs...

Trans/axle is A45DE G142
Plant/built C11
4x4 Auto 2779cc '3L' engine (no turbo or tems)
Its an early 92

Thought it was a bit different but suprised how difficult is is to find info - been searching on and off for 3 mnths now - and just ended up with jpegs of ones for sale or customised ones in Japan

Thanks for taking time Dave....feel like I'm searching for the holy grail or something!
