(Home) I have a prob with interior lights & clock

Hi everyone, I have just fitted a dvd & roof mount screen in my J reg Townace super Extra, the problem that has just occured is that the frint interior lights & the dash clock have stopped woking I have checked & replace the fuse under the dash but this has not sorted the prob. Any ideas as it was working before I fitted the screen, I removed the rear view mirrir to run the cable to the dvd unit.

Regards
Arshad.

Sounds like you have inadvertantly disturbed something.
I would get a multimeter or test light out and do some tracing back to the appropriate fuse - (if clock only works with ignition on auxilary setting make sure your key is in)
Where did you tap the circuit for dvd feed?
Could something have been dislodged around here - or somewhere else you where working?

I took the power for the dvd & the screen from the aux. feed on the ISO plug of my stereo I had thought of linking the wires for the extra interior lights on the roof mount screen & joining them with the original lighting circiut but changed my mind. At this point there was power coming to the lights. Its just when I had finished testing the operation of the dvd that I noticed that the clock was not lighting up along with the lights.

Hello. I have a 1992 2.0 TD (2 wheel drive) Townace with 'Purple' tinted film on all the rear windows (including the rear hatch) My problem is that on a recent holiday in Cornwall i have had a ball bearing fired through the front sliding window of the 'Off side' passenger window. The window has shattered, however the'purple' film has held the shattered glass in place, and i have managed to tape the window up and it is secure. I now need to replace the window. Can i replace the one shattered section, or am i going to have to replace the whole window unit? if this is the case can anyone help with any ideas, or suppliers names etc? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, you can. Either from a breakers or your local dealer. Glass might be interchangeable with Spacecruiser parts so your local windscreen centre might be able to help too. Caveat is the tint- there's three or four colours of glass used, and the wrong one will look different even with the film on it.

Hi Arshad,

"re

If not too much asking, can you share the pictures (email above) of your final mounted screen and dvd? I'm planning to upgrade from current laptop/dvd to a roof mount tft/plasma and in-dash cd/dvd/tuner and will appreciate any share of what other townie owners have come out with?

Thanks in advance,
Manecas
