Away from home today will have a look in the manual when I get back. I guess that what it connects to has dropped down have a look around for a widowed wire. What connector does it have?

On my 89 model f the coil was part of the distributor.
May be different on a 86.

On Saturday 31st of May my wife was driving our spacecruiser home from bingo. She dropped her friend off at her house, she started the engine and drove about quarter of a mile up the road, when suddenly there was a bright flash and her dashboard lights started flashing on and off, also the headlights did the same, the engine was having a job to keep going, but eventually she got home. After ten minutes of being home I went out to see if she would start, turned the key, no warning lights, no engine turnover,
absolutely nothing, everything has stopped working.
Checked all fuses, including ones under drivers seat,
And not one has blown. Can you help?
