So many models, at the spring AceJam no two were alike. They are all high spec. Some with velour captain seats, hot and cold box, manual/auto, skylights sun and moon roof, plain roof. Master Ace with differnt headlight and bumper 4WD 2WD climate control, and as many names to go with that, take you pick.....

The Japs are great for it.

Mine is a MasterAce Surf Super Touring Turbo 4X4 TEMS.
I think that is all that is on the back, but I'm not sure.

You could have any number and combination of such terms and names, and I don't think there is any particular rhyme or reason for them.

Could also be called a TownAce, MasterAce, or LiteAce (but I think the LiteAce is a fraction smaller) or maybe even something else.

The important thing is the model number on the compliance plate. The plate is under the carpet in front of the drivers seat. Mine is CR30.

Anything else is just dressing, and may indicate a different spec level.

It would be interesting to see how many different combinations of names and terms we could come up with, even without going to the Previa, Emina, Estima etc.

As a side note, they were called the 'Van' or the 'Cargo Van' when sold in the US, Tarago in Australia until about 1990, then Spacia, and I believe Spacecruiser in the UK.

We could have a really strange set of names if we took that approach, but it could be fun!

Don't forget the Hiace Supercustom Wagon (4wd) and derivatives!
The largest of the range.

If we really wanted to get serious we could include all the Toyota Cab over van designs - TownAce, LiteAce, HiAce, Tarago, and all the avariations on each basic body style! There are at least the four different basic types, and then model name variations within countries, aside from the differences between countries, then include the Lucida, mid under floor engine types and variations, then the new generation short bonnet versions - whew, we could go on forever just about, aspecially if you then included the various option badges, and trim level denotations!

well, I'm all tired out ow so I will go and have a sleep!

On the question of models my 5 year old sun wants a car like daddy so does anybody know of a toy manufacacturer that produces a toy Town Ace or Lite Ace. I think Majorette make a 1/52 scale Lite Ace model but I have asked in toy shops but have had no luck so far.

there should be a thread for models of the miniature type on here! i've been looking for models of my vehicles for a while now. the nearest i could find was a 1/24 scale kit for the estima that is is made in japan (sic) by a company called aoshima. i have only seen pictures of them on american online shops, and they were sold out. oh @#*%!!!
