(Home) Toyota emina brake pads

Hi,

I live in Bangkok, and have a 1998 Toyota Emina Elseo, I importred 2nd hand from Japan, which looks the same as a Estima, Lucida, Tarago, Previa, etc. The sign on theback indicates it is 4wd, but nothing inside suggests that it is!! Chassis no. is TCR20 1118330, Eng no. 2TZ 1916949.

The local Toyota dealer reckons he has to order brake pads in from Japan, take 40 days, cost an arm and a leg. I am sure in a city like this full of Toyotas I can find the equivalent pads.

Can anyone confirm tell me what other models would be likely to have the same pads?

Thanks,

Kelvin

To the best of my knowledge they were constant 4X4 for on road use only. There may not be any button or lever to activate 4X4 or lock it!
The easy way would be to crawl under the front and check for drive shafts to the front wheels.
In any case I wouldn't be trying to go too far off road in it - they were meant for that.

Sorry, can't help with the brake pads.
Was that sort of vehicle sold there new from Toyota? If so bits like brake pads should be interchangable - but don't quote me on that.

Dave.

No record of your chassis no on my CDs.
Do you know the part number for the pads?
Should be able to search on that.
