(Home) Fusebox location

I know that at 67 yrs old I am at age of senility, but I cannot find the fuses on my 1992 Royal Lounge.
Under the dash is indicated, but where are they hiding?
I am trying to find out why O/D solenoid is not getting any volts! Fuse checking is necessary !
A big picture with large arrow pointing to location would save my sanity!

Slightly left of center, lower dash about mid shin height if you are sat in. If you have the hot/cool box it is behind that best, got at from passenger side. Lid has a plan of what does what.
Just a thought but if you have had the floor pan out recently has it been reconnected/cable pinched?

"I know that at 67 yrs old I am at age of senility"

Oi! steady on Roy, I too was born in 1936 and, no selinity (yet) but, I must admit, if you have a hot/cool box, getting to the fuses does test the grey matter and, your bodily dexterity. Anyway, it's not too difficult for us youngsters but, I wonder how those older people get on ! ! !
Clive has said it all and, my money would be on a bad cable connection.

Thank you gentlemen, found the fuse box hidden behind the coolbox as described. Getting to it is another story. Only purchased the vehicle recently, O/D solenoid not working from day one. Solenoid in box works with direct 12volt, Will check connections etc. when rain stops! Many thanks for interest. One other question, where do I hang my zimmer frame whilst driving?

Have checked fuses, all ok. Have checked for trapped wires/bad connections. I have found an unconnected 4 way connector with 3 wires, in front of gear shift mechanism. A green/blue stripe wire goes to autobox solenoid, other 2 wires are both red with black or blue stripe and one goes to O/D switch. Think this connector should connect to a control unit to do with O/d switch action? If so, there is no mating connector in reach, the control unit seems missing,I certainly cannot find it. Can someone tell me where the unit should be and if possible, what the control unit does, in case I have to get or construct one.

Once you take the console off, the o/d computer (as they call it) should be clipped to a bracket at the front of the selector.
A wiring loom should come out from under the carpet, with a connector for the computer (about ten wires, IIRC), then the loom comes round to the drivers side of the selector, with connections for handbrake switch, lighting, solenoid and switch. It's quite a thick loom, you can't miss it.
Now, on petrol engined models, the o/d computer is linked up to temp. sensors etc for emission purposes, but if you're stuck, all you need is a relay. Put one side of the coil to ign. live, the other side goes to the switch, switch goes to ground. Put the warning light in parallel with the relay, and feed 12v through the relay to the solenoid.
Easy.

I think you are referring to the O/D relay (blue on mine). The parts diagram shows the switch ending in a connector, then in isolation the relay. So I guess that there are no other bits to link up, unless it's part of another system that does not get shown on the O/D diagram?
where does the other wire from the O/D switch go?

Thanks Dave & Clive for coming back so promptly. It is obvious from your explanation that the O/D control box is missing. Gone before I got the vehicle. We did find a Japanese coin (aluminium) & a 50p bit under the carpet though! My son has been assisting, he is slim enough to get under and into. The other wire Red with black trace goes to ground via a lamp or switch somewhere in dash area? We will make up a relay as per suggestion. I am still concerned in case the control box is some form of inhibiter, stopping the gearbox being put down to three if engine revs are way up. Any comments ? I can of course test if the auto-box will show 4 ratios, after putting the "beast" back together, by linking across the connector we have found.
Thanks once again, I will come back if any further queries crop up, if I may?----- Roy

Just a confirmation, Relay fitted, 4 gears found. Also fitted a computer produced mask for the speedo to make it more MPH friendly whilst dash was removed to fit a new radio. Replaced all bolts/screws lost by previous owners. Nearly finished all that needs doing. Thanks a lot for use of this site. ----- Roy

Glad to hear you have it all fixed.
Now as to where to hang your Zimmer frame....visit one of the AceJams and you may find the answer!
Happy motoring (old enough to remember Esso Blue)

And sad enough to admit to it eh Clive? :-)
