(Home) Sliding door writeoff, arrgh

Well, not quite. Mrs SFE bashed the side door on an innocent bollard last year and now the handle's fallen off and put the MOT at risk we decided it was time to claim for the repair. Assessor reckoned it wasn't an economic repair given the age of the car and the fact that she managed to bend the door, B pillar and the panel behind the door!

So, he offered us £750 cash in lieu which I've accepted and now have to replace the door and get the B panel kicked back into something like its original shape (the back panel's nearly OK)

Question - assuming I can get a decent door, how easy is it to rehang the new one?

Boll**ks. That's what I think of insurance folk. The door literally hangs on the various rollers. The middle one is a bit of a bugger to disengage- I think you have to take the plastic end off (at the rear light), undo the upper and lower brackets, then roll it off the back end.

So that's what? £200 for a door (guessing), about the same for a bit of hammerwork and a cheap paintjob, and £300 in your back pocket? Sounds fair...
