(Home) Ignition fuse blows - Spacecruiser (Sp+)

can anyone help. The ignition fuse keeps blowing when you turn on the lights (87 Spacecruiser), taking out the dashboard lights and rear lights. I don't have any wiring info, and I've never had a car persistantly blow fuses so I don't really know where to start. I did try a 15a fuse instead of the 7 1/2a but it blew anyway

Hello Paul,

I would begin by checking the rear light fittings because it sounds like you have a cable 'shorting' to earth. You may find that the problem lies in a worn cable to or at one of your rear light fittings, front side light fittings or license plate light fitting.

This fuse also supplies items on your dashboard but it is most likely to be external. Is the fuse board easy to gain access to? Can these circuits be split up somehow to check each one in turn?
