Toyota dealer should supply and cut
Older posts suggest some key cutters can match but you would have to search long and hard
Most of the toyota blanks used by key cutters are too thick to get in the hole of imports - in theory you could grind a thick cut copy down - but I'd go to the dealers

After two attempts at a local factors I gave up. The one and only original had a crack in it and it was off to Toyota on Monday. I popped into a Sunday market, key cutting van, I thought worth a go. Yes he says picks out a blank made in Italy with a sort of Superman motif and TOY 18 on the back. Perfect fit, went back and got another, at £2.00 each God knows how much Toyota would want. Now if you can identify the blank maker...... all would be Hunky Dory.

I had 2 keys cut had my local shoe repair shop and to be quiet honest they are a total waste of time. They are so thin that after a few uses they have started to twist and i darenot use them now in case they break in the lock / ignition

First turn of tailgate key left half of it in the lock where it still is! Can now only open it from inside until I find a way to get the key out and somehow get a replacement. Now terrified of the ignition key snapping off in ignition. The keys are so thin!!

I got some cut at our local Timpsons. The blank says Toy 7. Works OK but is shorter than the original and will not fit into the recess on the back door.

I have a "Silca TOY11" spare key<the only problem it wont unlock rear door,Original key snapped in ignition but the half I have left still works with the broken piece still in ignition.Local Toyoto dealers (Pendle) just are not interested in anythink Townace.Just living in hope statu quo exists for a long time do'nt fancy trying to extract broken key.

stuart - try some other toyota dealers - i had an experience of total obstruction when trying to get service info for mine (preston)
i would 'guess' a key number should be available via vin number etc. which would sort entry.you could always get a new ignition barrel from a scrap yard as your vehicle may be vulnerable to theft as it is.
but if you can get in the passenger doors with the spare, maybe the problem is with the rear lock?
not local but following toyota agent is townace friendly

When I bought my Townace 2 years ago I knew that the front passenger lock was u/s and all the 3 keys were second generation and didn't work at all smoothly. Then a month ago both my wife's key and mine developed a twist and the advice above proved useful. A few phone calls found a local shoe shop who made an adequate extra key for £5 or so.
But I felt it was time to sort things out properly.
David Coombs (full details, including email, under "Parts" in Ace Answers) supplied a complete set of 6 new locks (ignition, 4 doors and glovebox) with 3 keys for just over £100. I have not yet done the sliding door but fitting each of the others has been a very quick, easy and obvious job. The ignition lock is the easiest - you just need a bent bit of coat-hanger wire to press the button on top.
What I did notice is that the driver's door lock is different from the rest and does have a 4-digit number stamped on it. Also, all 3 keys have that same number stamped on them, and they are all on different blanks - at least one has a profile which, deliberately I think, opens all the locks except the glove box.
It would only take 15 minutes to remove the trim and the lock from the driver's door to find out your number, and I suspect that David Coombs can get keys cut to match that number.

Dave, thanks for that. I think I'm going to have to invest in that £100. I've found that with my 'G' reg Townie I can easily take out the ignition key whilst it's running, the same as I could with my Spacecruiser before. So I suspect the door locks are/will be the same. I could put nearly anything in the locks on my spacecruisewr and it would work! Seems they've not improved the lock side of things at all..have they.

keys for jap imports can't be cut from the chassis no.
but as Dave found the key numbers are stamped on the drivers front door barrel, from that keys can be cut by any toyota dealership in theory, however like mine the key cutting machines do wear out and they cost a mint to replace so most wont bother to replace them, as we can get them next day cut by an outside firn (access lock and key co.)
