(Home) Turbo whistle

is any level of turbo whistle acceptable?
i've just had cooling problems, sorted by a rad recore, and don't know if i'm now hearing faults that aren't really there!
with driver window open on accelaration, just before airflow becomes too noisy to hear there is a very faint high pitch whistle, and i do mean very faint, head out of window to hear it! is this normal/acceptable?
or am i now paranoid??......they're all out to get me you know!!!!!!!!!!

About 6 weeks ago my silver Townace Super Extra (1993) was broken into in the North Wales area and a single middle seat removed and three headrests stolen. The seat was actually unbolted from the floor and the whole sliding/swivelling mechanism taken out. I was left with 4 holes in the floor where my 8th seat should be! I am having considerable trouble locating replacements. I have tried the local Toyota main dealer and many scrapyards but no luck so far. Has anyone out there experienced similar problems, or do you know of any Townace owner who has recently fitted 3 grey herringbone headrests and single seat? I would really appreciate some advice or information. Thanks

BBC spares has head rests at £20, assume he has seats as well??
Did the low life cause any other damage?
You should have started a new thread, in house groan from the Spring Ace Jam members, as it could have got lost under turbo whistle.
Do you have protected no claims?
Hope you get sorted out without to much hassle.

I have a 1992 Litace GXL that wistles dixie!
I don't suppose it is too much of a problem considering a lot of local buses in my area (Bicester, Oxford) make even more noise.
I took my parents to the local social club one night and my dad thought that the whistling turbo was a police car siren behind us!

Regards. Al.

Thanks for your message Clive. I have had no luck so far. There was damage to the door when they broke the lock off and to the rear door which we think was hit hard to try and get it to open. I am still battling to get the garage to take responsibility for the damage. I have tried BBC spares but they do not have a seat which is my priority.
