(Home) New-to-us town ace owner

Thank you so much for this wonderful site! We took delivery of a Town Ace last week having previously owned a Hi-Ace SuperCustom around 4 years ago. That was a wonderful vehicle which did sterling service for us until it got to 17 years old and died of old age...... The replacement vehicle was only ever a temporary make-shift until I found another Ace vehicle. We work our vehicles hard being keen kayakers so the Aces are ideal with the large capacity for passengers and luggage and the curtains make changing in full public view a thing of the past!

The new Townie will take a bit of getting used to but no doubt worth it. Thanks for letting us know what the "red button" was for! My idea of an ejector seat was not that far out.......

It looks like the rad cap has been replaced as has the radio. The turbo whistles a little but maybe that is normal - i think you only notice the whistle as the actual engine is so quiet - much less noisy that the car it is replacing which is petrol..... Now I am just going to check this coolant fluid header tank and see what the levels should be....

When you see a silver Townie with kayaks on the top give us a hoot and a wave!
