(Home) Air in the heating system

Any problem i have had in the past with air and heating, is to top up with water then let the engine run and warm up for a couple of miles with the cap inplace, then rev up for 30 secs stop the engine, this usualy brings the air up out of the pump and out of the block to the top of the radiator, steadily release the cap with a thick cloth or towl to stop the blow out from getting everywhere, keep a downward pressure on the cap until te air is out. Then refill and try again, also befor releasing the air check when you turn off the engine for squirts, at this point it is when water is pushed out under pressure from the pump or hose pipes. Also check by filling the radiator then leave the cap off let him stand for a time to see if the water drops, with the cap off it lets in the air.
