1988 2C Diesel engine.
Engine turns over.. occasionally does the odd stutter, but won't start. Have replaced the glow plugs and resistor, but no difference. Fuel seems to be getting thru.

Am just a novice, but have had this van for a few years and it has never not started before.

The issue started several weeks ago, and I tried to start it.. and it just would wind over contantly and wouldn't start. Later that day I tried it again and it started first pop. Over the weeks since I find it's now doing this problem more and more. ie) Will either start fine first pop, or it will do as it's presently doing and turn over for ever, but not fire.

Does this sound like an electrical issue or fuel system issue...?

Sorry for sounding like a complete novice... (grin)
(probably is becuase I am.. am just a dumb builder!)

Found a damaged fuselink on the glo plug circuit.
Fuselink was still working, but after replacing it.. the engine started first pop with a pretty flat battery.

Hopefully thats all it was?
