Hi Russell
In law, this Townace belongs to someone and that someone isn't you, so technically you cant have it. If you want it, what you could do is to notify the police that you intend to recover it, and store it somewhere safe. If you store it for 3 months, and no one has claimed it, you may then be able to keep it.

There is one rather dodgy local outfit, that roam the streets looking for cars where the police have attached a removal notice. Their claim is that once the notice has been attached, its fair game and anyone can remove it.

looks like this townie will be lost for good. mate told me there were kids in it last night damaging the interior. makes me sad to see it lost as it would give some good spares. rung the local police agian but told not reported stolen, and as on (private land) nothing they will do.

Bit offtrack, last night I was called to a friends house, about 10 days ago my son had his mountain bike stolen, the person that stole it was at this house on another brand new mountain bike, we called the police they came and at the end of the day I was asked toif i could take charge of the bike, as they could not secure the bike, the lad was taken away and the bike was secured in my workshop, I imagine that sometime in the near future it would be collected, but nothing was said about that.
Oficially the bike was classed as lost/found property, they had no reports on it being stolen
I was told that if the bike was not claimed it would my son would be able to keep it.
Wonder if the same thing would be for the townie
Interesting eh
