(Home) Wiring diagram (Sp+)

please has anyone got a wiring diagram that they can email me? First thought it was alternator. Bought a new one, then new battery went flat and discovered that on a amp meter it is still pulling off 1.5 amps.
Everything is switched off, and with a fully charged battery in the car, you can garantee that it will be totally flat next day. So if anyone has had a similar problem or has a diagram, could you please e mail me i would be very grateful. Its a toyota space cruiser.
'a' reg its a f model. 1.8litre. Thankyou!

Hello Kevin,

Without a wiring diagram, you could try putting your ammeter on your battery and pull the fuses of circuits you know would be live such as interior lights, clock, radio, alarm etc until the load clears. If you are unsure of live circuits then just check at the fuse box with a voltmeter with everything supposedly off.

It could be your car alarm system or somethink is not
insulated.

I have been reading Kevin Skinner's problem of the 8/2/03 and just wondered if the cause of his battery discharge was that he wasn't pressing the small button above the ignition switch which allows the key to be turned anticlockwise to fully off.
A few days after acquiring my Townace the battery went flat,I checked the circuits and there was an amp or so drain on the accessory circuit, I removed the fuse and solved the problem. Ofcourse, I now had no radio, clock, etc., It sounds stupid, but after a bit of head scratching, and a beer, I realised that I wasn't pressing the silly little button to turn the ignition fully off because my key was worn and it came out easily at the second position leaving circuits live. Hope this is of interest.

Its fine for you mechanical types, but having a similar battery problem I couldn't find the battery!
even after taking off all visible cover plates, tipping seats etc!

Hi Nigel.
If your still looking, its under the floor, in the corner between the engine bulkhead and the middle seat on the drivers side.
