Whatever you do please dont go to the Limit Corporation at Faldingworth near Market Rasen. They import Townaces, we bought ours from there. I had a problem with a leak on my cooling system, & took it there, thinking they would be ok as they deal with them all the time. How wrong I was, they eventually fixed it after a week, by putting in a recore rad they charged me 4 hours labour at £35.00 per hour ! (£140 FOR LABOUR!!!!), and including the rad, antifreeze, & rad cap the total cost was £357.00. I later found out the rad had been re cored at a place in Scunthorpe ( in yellow pages), who would have done the whole thing for less than half the price, with only £60 for labour. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, once bitten twice shy & all that, check out the yellow pages first!

Don't go for yellow pages until you have checked out ace answers sandra. It has saved me a lot of money and heartache not to mention my sanity. most if not all of the input into ace answers is born out of experience one way or another

£60 labour to remove and refit a rad is VERY cheap. You sure that firm knew it was a Townie the rad was coming out of? Four hours? I've done it a number of times and would have to say that "I" couldn't do it that quick, certainly not on a 4x4.
Total price aint so bad either- a recore is heading for £150, rad cap £15, and there's £10-20 worth of antifreeze depending on brand...

Don't forget that a new rad from Toyota will be over £400 supply only!

If you get really desparate and don't mind the trip you could try Bullivants at Chadddesden, north Derby. They used to import Townaces (more Lucidas now) and have the experience as well as stocking spares. Let me know if you need directions, phone number.

I'm also on the lookout for a good garage in Chesterfield/Sheffield area for the odd occassion when I find a job too daunting (or feeling lazy). So if you find a good 'un please publish it on here.
