.....Friday...01/08/03...
After getting to Woodvale after lunch,I ended up marking out the car club areas before finding which was for our group,so we got plot 27.
I've unhitched the caravan put the flag up to help other Townies to find us..
The forecast for the weekend is good with sun.....
so don't forget the sun-cream !!
Clive arrive in his clean Royal lounge..from Bristol.
I had not had time to wash mine yet, so it has had to wait until tonight to get cleaned up, It's not looking to bad now ,I just hope is does not rain tonight !!
On the way out I saw Ray with his Range rover towing his caravan & right behind his Townie driven by Pam.
So I'll see them Saturday & the rest of you Townies

I'll write again tomorrow..........
Bye 4 now

.....Saturday 02/08/03.....................
A cloudy start to the day.... Clive & son slept in there tent on our stand....they did not get a lot of sleep due to other clubs having little party's around the air field & about 4:30am somebody started to blow a horn..I arrived on site approx 10:30 to find a group of Townies parked up......5 then another one & a little later Ray with his so 7 grey Townies all shiney on show for the public to look at.......
there was intrest from some people, asking info on the Townies etc with hand-outs with the club web site info on they walked away happy & thinking of getting a Townie..
We all had a good talk inbetween walking around the air base looking at the other car clubs, lorries etc..
the trade stands selling things like candles to model train sets, model aircraft, boats,& ice cream 7 hot dogs....

Most of us left around 5:30...with some coming back on Sunday.
By the way......
Ray left his little fridge on & flatened his battery so he had to walk back to get his Range Rover to jump start the Townie....never mind Ray..

Hope to see more of you on Sunday

Regards
Paul

What a place, what an event, what more can I say.
A little noisy overnight, cured that by sleeping in the bus last night, still heard the bugle at 5.30!
Just loaded my photos onto PC all the Townie ones are into the sun (don't trust your kids with the camera), but the GT40 came out along with the Cobra, Stingray and Austin A40 etc..
I did mean to get the table diagram but just forgot, any chance of an email?
Sorry I forgot (mixed up your names) can only place Ray and Paul. Hope the R/C car is ok - you know who you are! Nice to meet you and your families, shame about the sunburn.
Didn't show anyone the Dave Mason temp alarm either - just so much to do.
Any pics going anywhere?
619 KMs on one tank (light just came on as we got off the M5), A/C on most the way, on the speed limit most the time, son stayed awake all the way home so it was his choice of music!

The grass - a Jaguar stand was next to us. He started to cut the grass for his stand at 4ish until 10 on Friday, trim up on Sat 7.30 til 10 and yet again on Sunday. He had a tent, coffee area, flowers in pots, each car place measured and then marked out with tape to a plan. Plenty to see while cooking the breakfast.
Sorry to have missed the Hi-Ace. May have to make a plaque board now to put my first one on.
Thanks Paul for your organisation. Put me down for next year. Clive

Many thanks Paul for all you hard work. Sorry that we could not be there for the Sunday as well and, as you were elswhere on the unbelieivably large site when we left (we did have about 145 miles to go and Grandson had to be home) we did not get a chance to say goodbye.
Anyway, it was a great day and you are to be congratulated for all your hard work and enthusiasm.

Thanks Paul and family for organising the club stand. Your work much appreciated and a truly excellent venue. Only sorry I was so late getting there with the Hiace (Sun 2.30) as I would have liked to have met everyone. Look forward to getting there 'on time' next year. Chris

First of all a big thankyou to Paul & family for organising the Woodvale ace jam. sorry I could not join the line up as early as most but I had other commitments on the aircraft flightline (and late night bbqs !). I found it very interesting talking to fellow owners both learning (the hidden aerial clip) and passing on information. Some very nice vehicles were on show and There was quite an interest in them from the public. A good show all round and a scorcher..

So none of you commented on my "6" wheeler... Didn't any of you see it by the Police Helecopter? I'm really upset that I didn't get a mention in "despatches!"

Better luck next year I suppose..........

A downheated Townie owner.....
