Topping up the oil in transfer box today I was suprised to hear a hiss as I undid the filler. The vehicle had not been used for almost 24 hrs.
Should there be a breather somewhere on the casing to prevent pressure build up?
Vehicle is 4wd hiace

dunno. There is on the townie tho. Look for a loose- fitting metal cap, there's one on each diff also. Actually, as I think about it, there's a little valve under the cap (spring loaded) so it'll retain a certain amount of pressure...

Autobox breathes through the dipstick BTW
