(Home) Aircon idler pulley

Has anyone had a problem with the idler pully from crankshaft to air con compressor.
2CT 2lt td royal lounge 1990 2wd.
It rattles on tickover but when revs are up a bit its not so noticable. If I release tension it gets worse.
The crank is tight. Could it be the compressor as I removed the idler completly but did not take the belt of to start the just in case the belt grab round.
I have ordered the pully from toyota and collect tomorrow (wed) cost £59 expensive I thought.
Any advice please.

you can just press a new bearing into the pulley...
They do wear out. If it's not that (you should be able to feel play/ roughness when you spin it) then it'll be the bearing in the middle of the compressor clutch pulley. Again that can be replaced.

Thanks David
Replaced the pulley today almost certain that was the fault. I did not know the bearing was only pressed in.
Would have been cheeper to replace.
£70 amost with vat.
Will the b1 cd show the bearing for the compressor just in case.

There's certainly a stripdown on the compressor on the cd, don't know if the bearing is listed as a seperate part to the pulley tho.
