(Home) Townace owners in cold climates

I am considering taking my Master Ace Surf 4WD 2.0TD Auto to Sweden (from the UK) for a few months this winter. Temperatures could be down to -20C. Does anyone have any advice on potential cooling/heating/freezing probelms that I may encounter.

Make sure that your oil, and coolant are effective down to -20°C If you are not sure, your best off replacing them now. Follow the directions for the antifreeze to ensure the right mix.
You may want to check out snow tyres, or at least chains to suit the road conditions, and make doubly sure your heaters are working.

There are a few Townies in Moscow and elsewhere in Russia, so it should be up for it.

You might want to fit an additional electrical pre-heater, there are various types available (stick- on sump pads, core plug replacement, inline with heater hose...)

Greetings....
There are more than a few townies in Moscow. I would be willing to say there are hundreds if not thousands of townies in Moscow now. Every time i travel anywhere in town I see townies every where. They have really become popular.

My Townie stays outside all winter long with the temp. averaging -15 down to -30. As long as the coolant is up to snuff, you shouldn't have any problems. I think my townie runs better during the winter.
