(Home) Electric cooling fan conversion

I have just done this to remove tha viscous fan setup. i found that a montego turbo diesel unit is the exact sise to cover the rad. also its a two speed fan, so i wired the slow speed through the igniton & the high speed through a switch (both wired via heavy relays). i have pics of this install if anyone wants them. iam looking into a time delay switch that is avalible from maplins to see if siutable to work high speed fan for a couple of miniutes after engine shut down. the whole setup cost me less than£35 and i now have complete control over the cooling (i also have a ace answers temp alarm top piece of kit get one)

After a severe overheating episode a Fortnoght ago I was considering a secondhand engine for my Townace Diesel Auto, a mechanic friend of mine told me to get the Rad recond, fit a new Rad cap & a new stat. I took the rad to my local Sercks last Teusday & they found a number of hairline cracks on the tanks as well as a blocked Rad core. I have driven the vehicle about 150 miles since then & the water is still at the full marks on the overflow & rad cap.
