Ah, OK then. Easy. Get a STRONG breaker bar on the end of your socket, fit it, and rest the end of it on the body just beside the expansion tank. Now, go round to the driver's side and turn the ignition key. Engage the starter for the shortest flick you can. Presto, loose bolt! (or broken socket if of poor quality...)

BE WARNED it slackens with quite a bang, and take precautions against a. the engine starting (disconnect stop solenoid at rear of pump to be sure, but a cold engine with no glow plugs won't start anyway...) and b. flying bits of socket or bar...

Why do you need the pulley off? It can stay on for a belt change...
You'll need to jam it with something to stop it from rotating. Easy with the valve cover off, just stick a bar through one of the holes in the pulley and onto the top of the head.

Socket and breaker bar on the bolt, rest the end of the bar on the l/h inner wing, stand clear, and give the starter a nudge on the key. It'll either work first time or break the socket...
