(Home) Coolant loss & overheating

I took the vehicle to London for the first timesince having a new radiator, rad cap & thermostatfitted due to an earlier overheating problem, everything was fine all the way to London, but after stopping for the night I took off the rad cap to see if there was any water in there, I found that I had to put in about 1.5ltrs to bring the level back up. I then noticed a line of water running along the upper timing belt cover dripping at the edge onto the metal cover & landing on the ground in line with the overflow from the expansion tank. I have a 2ct manual from Toyota & this shows the water pump & head are in this area. Any ideas?

If the water's running down the plastic timing cover, the leak is high up- check the rad cap and the bleed hose beside it carefully, then work down to the thermal switches on the outlet neck.

I have removed the top timing belt cover & I can see water coming from the area of the water pump it is being thrown up by the timing belt onto timing cover then down the side onto the floor. I think the water pump is leaking.A new one has been sourced from my local factors it is one hell of a large item & at £65 I hope this sorts out the problem once & for all.

I have spent most of today trying to remove the Diesel pump pully, even with a puller it took a few hours as I was worried about breaking the pulley. I have decided to renew the timing belt & fan belts. I hope to complete the job tommorow.
