no 4 gear

hi all got a prob no over drive on my 1990 townie have had a look at all the threds but i am not sure what the od solinoyd is .
can anyone tell me what colour the 12 volt feed to the solidoyd is.
had a look at the side of the gear box cannot see the solernoyd is it behind the gear selector?
on the od relay(com)which is the 12 volt feed to the
solinoyd as i will test it if i no which wire to test

Steve. From the parts CD, the illustration shows the o/drive solenoid on the left hand side of the gearbox casing, with a fairly heavy cable running to it from a relay at the side of the gearchange lever. With someone operating the O/D switch, you could probably hear whether this solenoid is "clicking" in and out, though I am not sure whether you would have to have the engine running to do this. I am not able to say what colour of the wire is but, if you are still stuck, I could check this on my vehicle later in the day.
