(Home) What's the most owners have carried

I read another posting about removals and since I use my Liteace for my transport business, (Mainly parcel deliveries in the local area - the recipients always recognise my Liteace!) I would like to tell you about the diverse loads it has carried.
On one occasion I managed to fit TWELVE dining chairs in the back. On another, I did some roadying for a local band
A Marshall amplifier, two Trace Elliot amplifiers, a full size drum kit (all packed up, mind), and a mixing desk, with the Band's Frontman in the front passenger seat. Can anyone beat that?

I hope that I can beat that!

I have carried 3-piece suits. Also a cooker, washing machine, tumble dryer and 2 TVs in one go. But the best was a big Suzuki motorbike (my son's, when he broke down). We practically moved house using our SpaceCruiser!

Complete flat pack kitchen (6 base units and 4 wall - all in chipboard)from MFI, including 2 worktops (one 8 foot long, the sink, oven (double), frige/freezer and extractor fan. Spacecruiser with seats flat, no bumps and no speed all the way home!
Also done the same as Jo - carrying the big bike no problem - getting it in and out......
Camping with a frame tent (heavy and bulky) wife (hea.. no best no go there!), 3 teenage kids and stuff for two weeks all inside and below window level.
6 6 by 4 garden fence panels and posts. Double divan bed and mattress, bit of a squeeze that one!
Also the best thing ever for taking stuff to the dump, huge area and low loading, plus suspension built for the weight, well if you don't count new kitchens.
Also the envy in collect your own places when you just pop it in and drive off, no removing TVs from the packaging for us!

Totally agree. Bit like a Tardis these things for load space. The other night I managed 2 x 2 seater sofas. Previously had a bed, washing machine etc. Also had 13' ladders, joists and concrete fence posts.

The one time I thought I was nearly beaten was getting a tailgate from another Townie in. You would think it would be easy but I ended up having to remove the rear seat mounts and even then it took a slice out of the trim.

A big load in another way ... I just love the way 8' x 4' sheets of anything slide in once all the seat backs are lowered - and covered of course. I think the builders merchants are impressed too.
Another thing is how much more comfortable the ride is with a good load. Most notably I once had a big pile of 3-packs of loft floor chipboard panels behind the rear seats - which meant there was still room for all the passengers to appreciate the effect. It really reduced the "nodding" as the car rocks back and forth on its short wheelbase. I almost wondered whether to leave some there pernmanently, it's cheap enough.

My wife and I were having a meal at a pub the other day when a space cruiser turned up and twelve people got out!
