Can anyone tell me how much oil the sump takes as my 3000 miles is up and i'm doing a change this weekend.
Thanks

Sump of what? petrol/ diesel? year? Have you searched in the archives yet?

Not to be odd, but the dipstick is a good guide- fill up until it's at the "max" mark...

... but guess on a bit over 4l...

hello, can anybody help me i have a light ace 4wd 1992 2lr petrol. the oil light keeps coming on, i checked the light on this site and it says it is the engine oil level low.i checked the oil and it is bang on the center of the dip stick. does any one know why the light would keep coming on? am i likely to damage the engine by continuing to drive?i am a new owner and have just found this site.

Sometimes with the petrol engine the sender unit goes a little faulty. You may need to replace it. (you may have success by removing and cleaning it?)

Alternatively, if it hasn't been serviced for some time (well overdue) the sender unit can be affected - if you are not sure of the last service time, that would be the first stop! And worth it for lots more reasons.

Dave.

Hello Derek.
There are two oil lights, one red, one orange. The red one is for oil pressure, if that comes on there's a problem. The orange one is for oil level, and its quite normal for it to come on half way between the full and empty marks on the dip stick. If you top up the oil, the light will go out. If you continue to use it, the oil level will drop too low, and damage could occur.

As a new owner, you might like to take some time to visit the archives, and the online hand book.
