Help - MOT failure - new steering rack required - found plenty of liteace's but not one for mine. Anybody know where I can get a new one or somewhere that can recon? Tried a recon specilaist who advises he can't do imports.

Same as the Spacecruiser (and possibly Liteace), try a different outlet. Easy to do from underneath, been there, done it, got dextron in the eye.

Kevin. Is the rack really finished? Have a look in the Ace Archives, I think you will find postings re an adjustment "slipper" which can be used to take up the play between the rack and it's pinion. Did yours fail on excess movement? If it failed on fluid loss, faulty seals etc, that's another irritating but not insoluble problem

Two points here, firstly 4x4 ans 2WD racks differ as do the track rod ends.

Secondly, as well as the slipper that John refers to, the track rods are replaceable, can be ordered from the dealer.
