I have 1990 Townace Royal Lounge 2lt turbo.Problem is one minute battery is charging next thing its not charging, could this be anything to do with the regulator? also my headlights are on mainbeam all the time the lights are on,the stork clicks into 3 different positions but will not stay only main beam.
Anybody help with ether of these problems please.

Les, check the alternator brushes by carefully removing the end tin cover and taking out the plastic block in the middle - held in with some small screws , chances are the brushes have worn too short to contact the armature commutator (happens around the 80,000 - 100,000 mark). The Main beam is probably a relay fault (stuck/melted)as you describe the switch as feeling healthy - if the relay is ok then its time to get a meter out and check that switch - someone here will advise you where the relay is situated im sure -

anybody help with another regulator,tried all the local electical factors no luck,by the way i stay in Perth Scotland not many townace specialist up in Scotland.
