(Home) Hiace 3.0 super custom limited

hi all
great site this, linked in from the owners club site.
right folks i am having problem finding a wiring harness to connect my new uk spec hifi into my hiace, apparently according to the guys trying to do it the loom is different because it has an active amp on it, does anyone have a solution?
i hate doing car electrics with a veangance so if i don't have to do it i would rather not.
another thing, although mine has very low mileage, 57thousand kays the interior has been dogged, the side panels are chewed and torn does anyone know of a reputable trimmer in kent pref se who will do this for a reasonable price??
i do hope the predictions of 17 - 21 to the gallon are wrong, else me and the hiace will be very short term lovers.
i am going to wax mine is waxoyl still the thing to use?? i cannot get anyone to do it so am faced with having to do it me self.......yuk!!

Did you post recently on the TOC site?
I'd ditch the amp and connect directly to the speaker wires exiting it. Shouldn't be the biggest job in the world to trace the speaker wires... Can't expect an "Autoleads" solution for every install, sometimes you gotta do it the old way!

Dinitrol 3125 may be the best for seams and waxoyl over the top
Don't delay though - I didn't do mine immediately and wish I had.
The 17-21mpg is mine (2.8 non turbo)- (23.5 on a 200 mile run at 70-80mph recently). I still have avenues to explore to see if it can be improved - other people with 2.4 turbos get 30mpg - would guess yours would be in-between so dont despair.
I would try yellow pages for the auto trimmer if no one can recommend one - I think there is a fashion for chucking trial bikes in the back in Japan.
If your rear panels need to come out then that would be the perfect time to treat the interior panels

hi
thanks for the replies.
yes i do post in the toc forums too.
active amp, well there are things on mine like an intercom between front and rear which appear to be dependant on the active amp, not wanting to cut myself off from the family ( hey i can turn it off, 'if' i want ;-)) not too sure about the strange name for it though, joyfull talk ??
as for the trial bikes, think that might explain a bit too ,but some is definitely dog, bikes don't have teeth.....
