(Home) Manual choke (Sp+)

I have a 1984 "B" Spacecruiser that has provided faithful service for 10 years now. Over the last 6 months , or so, I have had problems associated with the automatic choke. The best option seemed to be to fit a manual choke conversion to sove the problem. However, though starting is a little easier the choke still doesn't seem to be operating as it should. The difficulty seems to be that when you pull the leaver of the choke out & turn the engine over there doesn't seem to be any high revs there. Once the engine has started, you can push the choke leaver back in & the high revs will kick in after about a minute or so.

If anyone has any ideas as to the answer to this I would be very grateful.

Secondly I would value any advice as to the future, maybe the middle of next year, as to the sad "moving on" of the 'cruiser. By then it (Hopefully) will have 10 months mot & several months tax left. Does anyone have any alternatives to the scrap yard?

On my later 88 Cruiser the fast idle link was activated of off the autochoke linkage. Has this been connected to the manual choke? Is the second choke working?

Thanks for the responce Clive.

Though I obtained the choke, it was fitted by a local garage who had to remove the carb' to fit thr unit.

Do you have anymore info' to enable me to go back to the garage?
