(Home) Carb trouble, 1983 1850 2Y Spacecruiser (Sp+)

Having big carb problem on Spacecruiser. Mechanic says its knackered. Long lifebut short mileage (only 64 k.). Needs to heel and toe on brake and gas keep running, mewchanic has stripped it and cleaned it, but no joy. M'aide, mayday, HELP.

I had this prob on another vehicle - float valve required adjusting (flooding) and the needle valve never sealed properly after 3-4 days of non use (flooding) - I adjusted the float valve which solved the first prob and made sure I used the vehicle more regularly for 2nd prob - also found a splash of synthetic 2-stroke oil in the tank helped a little. Does sound like a flooding issue - (you will probably smell the fuel with the engine cover up) are there any carb specialists in your area? Not familiar with your carb but it may be worth pulling and inspecting the vac tubes to it as one may have a reducer in it (down to pin hole size)which could be clogged
