engine badly overheated by so called friend got it home starts ok but have oil running out of exhaust anybody point me in the right direction.

Turbo oil seal? but a compression test may be wisest and will tell you how the engine is - doesn't sound good though - has it started to smoke alot too?

chris i have buckets of smoke coming from exhaust i do not seemed to have lost any power

yup if you've still got power but oil out the exhaust, sounds like the exhaust side oil seal has gone.
