Can anyone tell me what the button is for that is located on the top of the stearing housing behind the hazard lights switch is please. (it has 'push' on the top of it. For some reason there is a clicking nise coming from it & I have a drain on my battery & I wonder if it could be associated.

Hell Bob.
This button will sort of cause a drain on your battery.
You need to press and hold this button down in order to turn the ignition key all the way to the off position. If you don’t then the ancillaries, like the radio etc will stay on. Stand out side the drivers door, and see where the ignition slot points to. It almost certainly wont be in the off position.

...but there is a solenoid linked to the button to prevent you from removing the key unless the gear selector is in Park. When does it click?
