(Home) I got a petrol model

OK! after a bit of advice and reassureance (thanks clive) i took the plunge and paid 2000 for a petrol, manual super extra townie, and i got to tell you all, i love it! i totally agree you become a motorist rather than a driver, you really have to think about what you are doing... I have been driving it like it was made of glass (most of it is...i LOVE the skylight roof..) but i am paranoid about water, headgaskets, overheating etc etc so i am checking it after every journey (100 miles so far no water loss, oil is almost clear gold)

anyway thanks for all the help guys

Terry

Well done.
Washer bottle? There's only one, a very large one, for front and rear combined. It's in the rear wing, driver's side, under the tailgate. There's a sight tube to see how full it is.
If it hasn't been used for a while you may have to press the switch for some time before fluid comes through to the front nozzles.

Mutter mutter damm petrol engines golden oil .....
Well done, look at it this way, a lot of car for a little money, if the head gasket goes so what repair or replace, it will be worth it.
Head gaskets not such a problem on petrol engines, yes they do go as with all engines, some ooze oil for years, Triumph 1500's fitted to Spitfire, Dolomites, Toledo etc, nearly all of them dribble oil from the rear of the engine.
Why not buy one of the temp alarms as advertised on AceAnswers, I have fitted and can't praise it enough.
