Terry,
The Toyota Spacecruiser manuals (one for engine and one for body), are out of print.
The one for the Toyota Van on the US Toyota Van Site
http://www.toyotavans.org/
is about the best freebie you can get. The draw back is that may not cover your engine type.
There is an Aussie one for the Tarago available mail order see Ace Answers for the contact.
OverDrive button, best kept in/on for normal use of/out for steep hills and towing, all covered on Ace Answers.

I've never had a Spacecruiser but I have a Tarago manual from the Aussie bookshop. It came very quickly. Seems good value for a Spacecruiser owner, only moderate value for a regukar Townace owner. I think their Tarago is closer to Spacecruiser than the US Van is.

Yes good thinking. The owners manual (that comes with the car) states the Tarago on the cover and covers it with little further reference to say there are many differences between the SpaceCruiser and Tarago models. Equally the SpaceCruiser workshop manuals cover the Tarago as well. Presumably the Tarago manual will also be relevant to the SpaceCruiser. No doubt they are available, how much to ship from Oz?

i have a copy of the tarago manual and its very good - more like a haynes type manual with all parts shown in sections it cost me £19 delivered from australia and only took a week to get to me!!! Got it from pitstop publications - they are on the web - take Visa no problem. Also have american toyota cressida car and van book - pictures not so good but has more detail on some things - got it from amazon for about £20.

Best of my knowledge the Tarago book is closer than the US - Right hand drive, and more engine options.

In the US it seems they only had the 4Y motor, and I think only injected.
In Aus, the Tarago came with 2Y, 3Y, and 4Y motors, injected and carby, with lots of different options.

As mentioned, it can be had from various websites.

It is still available in motor shops here.

Dave.

Toyota Australia still sell Y series engine manual, 1Y, 2Y, 3Y @ 4Y in all their permutations. I got one 3-4 months ago for about $40 aus, I think the publication no. is RM025E but can remember for sure.

The US manual is spot on for the rear axle, diff and rear brakes for an Aussie Tarago, Having blown the rear diff last month, I replaced it using the US manual that can be found on the web, and every thing matched up perfectly.

Hi,
Have recently bought a 1989 Model F Spacecruiser, am looking for a tailgate mirror. If anyone knows where I could get one, or has one for sale, I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know.
Many thanks.

BBC spares - but the spacecruiser door has less metal at the top, the townace has threaded holes and no doubt strengthening.
