I owned a 1994 Liteace (petrol). According to the instruction manual, nothing is mentioned regarding the timing chain but I suspected it is making clucking noise when the engine is under stress (eg accelerating, overtaking or climbing). Should it be replaced or adjusted? TQ for any useful advice.

There is a chain tensioner that may not be doing it's job. The only way to find out is to strip it out and see. If you have gone that far may as well replace.

I’m not too sure how applicable this is, but a friend used to own a performance Carlton, and the advise from Vauxhall was to replace the chain at 60,000 miles because the links were prone to stretch, and eventually break.
